Long Island’s second adult-use cannabis dispensary has opened in East Farmingdale.
The new Happy Days dispensary is located in a 5,225-square-foot space at 105 Route 109. The dispensary’s co-tenant in the 10,000-square-foot building is an adult entertainment venue called Mirage Gentleman’s Lounge.
The area’s second adult-use cannabis store, both located in the Town of Babylon, follows Strain Stars, a 3,500-square-foot dispensary at 1815 Broadhollow Road in Farmingdale which opened in July 2023.
Babylon, one of four Long Island towns that didn’t opt out of allowing adult-use cannabis shops, has been the preferred town of dispensary licensees for locating their businesses. Many have targeted Farmingdale and the western areas of the town that are closest to Nassau County, where municipalities opted out of allowing dispensaries.
There are several other adult-use dispensaries planning to open here within the next few months. They were delayed by a court injunction issued last August that prevented any new dispensaries from opening, after a lawsuit challenged the state’s conditional licensing program which was reserved for people with prior cannabis-related convictions. The lawsuit was since settled and the state’s Office of Cannabis Management has expanded cannabis business licensing, allowing anyone to apply for cannabis licenses, not just those with prior convictions.
Happy Days offers a variety of cannabis products, including flower, pre-rolled joints, edibles, infused beverages and more. It is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.
